Hotel is an independently developed anti-horror RPG puzzle game. The game is set in a grim hotel, where three quirky tenants live inside. They all seem to have special powers and mysterious paths. The player takes on the role of new visitors in the hotel, choosing to kill or help the guests, and reveals what previously happened in the hotel.

​Inspiration

An attempt to create an Anti-Horror game Inspired by Undertale and The Witch’s House.

My initial thought was to make the players play ghosts to create horror events, and change
the game’s ending by the saving system and changing variables. However, during the conceptualization, the idea deviated and became a horror puzzle game. It was a word-based game made by twine and then remade by RPG Maker.

My original concept: Travelers who traded souls with the devil have become devils themselves, and their demonic form will show through when in fight mode. After they die, they will remain in a strange shape of existence and wonder in the hotel. It then was modified into a simpler concept: if a player chooses to kill a traveler, the latter will become a demon and stay inside the manor.

My Role

The Hotel is a solo game project using Twine and RPG Maker.
