2020 is a six-letter word: Repair.
Our team thought of the Ship of Theseus - after Theseus returned from Crete, his ship docked at Athene. Whatever was broken got repaired and replaced, and eventually, no part used the original materials. Philosophers wonder if the ship is still the same ship and if it isn’t, since when?
I want the table in this game to maintain its original purpose, the players to do whatever it takes to serve it, and experience all the
chaos and fun that comes with replacing the legs.

Dead By Daylight: Board Game is a board game adapted from the theme and gameplay of the video game-Dead By Daylight. The game is inspired by chess, in the form of character pieces and a board map to restore the chasing mechanism in the original game.

For a school project, the task was to adapt a game into a board game, and my team chose Dead by Daylight.
We struggled to represent the immediate chasing experience in the original game. I then came up with the idea of referencing from chess.
Players will chase into battles with chess pieces. In the original DBD, a killer is faster than a survivor, but the latter can whip out some distance by flipping through a window. So I proposed that a killer can walk five steps each round, while a survivor walks four.

My Role
1. Came up with the idea of basic mechanisms base on the original Dead By Daylight video game.
2. Playtested with groupmates to change specific variables set in the game.
3. Communicated with teammates for more specific mechanics and rules.
